Mabel Poblet

Mabel Poblet is a young Cuban artist making waves in the global contemporary art scene. Her work is sought after by an extensive list of collectors from countries including the United States, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, and Russia.

Drawing inspiration from artists like American painter and photographer Chuck Close, Mabel's art encompasses painting, photography, as well as performances and installations.

Mabel's work is focused on social causes and issues she has experienced firsthand in Cuba. The young artist aims to shake the mundane consciousness by defying the laws of physics and pulling reality into the realm of imagination.

Every material she uses, from pieces of acetate to tiny pins, is carefully chosen to support the story she wants to tell. These stories range from personal reflections to the world's major afflictions. For instance, Mabel has produced a stunning piece inspired by plastic flowers made by female inmates in Cuba, titled "Simplemente bellas" (Simply Beautiful).

Cuban art is increasingly recognized internationally for its richness and eccentricity, and Mabel Poblet is a testament to this.
