Caio Cezar comes from a lineage of photographers, being the son and grandson of photographers. He embarked on his photography journey at the age of 16, starting as a darkroom technician where he developed black and white films. He earned a degree in photography from Univali and spent 12 years working as a photojournalist for newspapers such as "A Notícia" and "Diário Catarinense."

In 2005, he transitioned into freelance photography, collaborating with clients like Editora Globo, Revista Trip, UOL, and Folha de São Paulo. Caio has won the Maratona Fotográfica de Florianópolis eight times and currently focuses on developing photographic series in areas that pique his interest: street photography, portraits, and abstract photography.

In 2013, one of Caio's photos was published in the book "A Day In The World," released by the Aday Foundation in Sweden, featuring a preface by Desmond Tutu and showcasing a selection of a thousand photographs from over two million submissions across five continents. In the same year, Caio was invited to participate in the exhibition "Brazilian Contemporary Photography: Images, Traces, and Noises" with his panel "Banana 45," which documented the ripening and rotting process of a bunch of bananas. Since 2014, he has been teaching courses and workshops in Florianópolis, covering topics such as Photographic Editing, Studio Lighting, and Portrait Fundamentals.
