Taiyo Okamoto

The artist Taiyo Okamoto grew up near the ocean in Karatsu, Japan. He has been living in New York City since 2002. By painting, tearing, carving, and gluing various textures of paper, particularly the Japanese Inshu mulberry paper, Taiyo creates art inspired by chigiri-e, ranging from small works to large installations.
